Pita Pan- An Interesting Meatless Option

I know some people set aside Mondays as "Meatless Mondays" or choose to veg out one meal (breakfast doesn't count) a day either for health or eco reasons. But whatever it is, vegetarian dining doesn't have to be just a plain boring bowl of salad.

The offerings at Pita Pan, a bistro serving Mediterranean vegetarian food, would make for a good meatless option.

The Full Pocket ($10.90) comprised of a warm pita bread stuffed with 5 falafels (choose from regular, basil, sundried tomatoes)...

..and any of the veggies, salads, olives, beans you want from the salad bar!

Here's the other part of the salad bar including an array of 6 sauces. The salad bar variety is pretty good to give different textures, flavours and options.

Just don't touch the garlic sauce (very punchy!) if you are heading back to the office/school after makaning. Moohehe.

If it's raining, the Green Shakshuka ($13.90) would be such added comfort. Creamy spinach, basil, spring onions, just a bit of paprika and 2 eggs (or Halloumi cheese if you prefer). Perfect for mopping up with the pita breads. If only the eggs were more runny though...

Another yummy dip dish was the Hummus with Chickpeas ($10.90). A simple and flavourful blend of chickpeas, tahini (sesame paste), lemon juice and garlic. An additional squeeze of lemon and drizzle of olive oil perked this up.

Well this cow isn't about to give up meat (especially his beloved beef) anytime soon but I am sure happy to have options like this on days/meals when I wanna veg out. :)
