I remembered it was a hell of a week but I'm thankful for ending it with foodie friends and good food. Yay! The last visit to Jane Thai was a year ago.
Here's what we recently nom-ed down.
Som Tam ($6) aka Papaya Salad was fresh, spicy, tangy and will awake the palate.
Yum Woon Sen ($10) aka Seafood Vermicelli Salad was so spicy it had us all seeking comfort in lots of ice cream later. Moohahaha.
The rest of what we had were a little more gentle on the tongue.
Moo Yang ($10) aka BBQ Pork was a tad dry on this visit but otherwise nicely done with the flavours of grilled pork heightened by the chilli dip.
Thod Mun Kung ($10) aka Deep Fried Prawn Cakes were as always, awesome! Juicy prawn feeling and filling with a lightly-crumbed crust.
Another fried food that's really good- Peek Gai Thod ($5 for 3 pieces) aka Fried Chicken Wings. I'm not sure what marinate they used but it was savoury (fermented beans? garlic? fish sauce?). No matter cos I'm loving it!
Phad Thai ($5) aka Fried Thai Flat Rice Noodles. You can choose from Beef/Pork/Chicken/Seafood. We picked seafood. The noodles had a nice wok hei but I found the flavours quite mild. Maybe moo taste buds were affect by the innocent-looking Seafood Vermicelli Salad. LOL.
Phad Pak Bung ($6) aka Kang Kong was stir fried with bean paste.
Tom Yum ($10) aka Spicy Sour Red Soup came with a choice of Seafood/Prawns/Chicken. We opted for seafood again. Hehe. I pretty much enjoyed the soup with its sourish notes with a spicy finish.
And of course, some carbs to go with all the yummy food. This was the Khao Nam Liap ($10) aka Olive Minced Pork Fried Rice. Nothing too intense. A pleasant nuttiness.
Ka Pao Moo ($10) aka Stir Fried Pork with Basil. This and rice? Match made in heaven!
Speaking of rice....
The Khao Plao ($1) aka Steamed Rice is shaped like a heart! Awww...so lomantic.
People come to Orchard Towers looking for love in all the wrong places. Maybe they should try Jane Thai instead! Love you long long. Moohahaha.
